Don’t Kill the Asset: How maintenance decisions shape the lifetime value of a Charter Boat

A charter boat is more than an asset generating revenue, it is an investment whose value depends on how well it is managed throughout its lifecycle. In this keynote, Francesco Losavio explores how a more strategic approach to maintenance can extend a boat's productive charter life, reduce long-term operating costs and protect its resale value.

Drawing on his experience managing charter operations and building bases from the ground up, Francesco will look beyond routine maintenance to examine how the right decisions throughout a boat's lifecycle can directly impact profitability, fleet performance and the eventual exit value of the asset.

Key Takeaways:

  • How strategic maintenance can extend the productive charter life of a boat
  • The relationship between maintenance costs, downtime and charter profitability
  • Which maintenance decisions have the greatest impact on long-term asset value
  • How to protect a boat's condition and resale value throughout its charter life
  • Moving from reactive maintenance to a more proactive, lifecycle-based approach
  • Why maintenance should be viewed as an investment rather than simply an operating cost
